Defending Dean
Wed Dec 07, 2005 at 07:49:29 AM PDT
So I get up having coffee and am reading an article on
MSNBC web page in which
Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Ga.) is saying ""Dean's take on Iraq makes even less sense than the scream in Iowa: Both are uninformed and unhelpful."
Well I was disturbed that Mr.Marshall is so uninformed and that he is still ignorant of the truth about how the networks manipulated the audio to filter out the backround cheering and screaming, thus making the governor look like a screaming maniac. Needless to say I immediately called Mr.Marshalls DC office to inform them of the facts and urge them to quit perpetuating a lie.
So I am not above defending the governor when he deserves defending. And it makes me crazy with dems still attacking their own.
breaking: Supreme Court rules against Med. Marijuana
Mon Jun 06, 2005 at 07:30:39 AM PDT
While people here continue to navel gaze about Dean and pie ads, our Supreme Court in its infinite wisdom has decided the feds can indeed prosecute medical marijuana growers and users.
Justice John Paul Stevens, writing the 6-3 decision, said that Congress could change the law to allow medical use of marijuana.
This is a sad day indeed for so many ill people who rely upon this drug to ease the pain of their illnesses.
Howard Dean on Meet the Press
Fri May 20, 2005 at 09:29:07 AM PDT
Just got an e-mail from the dnc informing me that the governor will be on MTP with Tim "I'm not really a republican" Russert for the whole hour. All I can say is its about time we started getting some airtime and who better to raise a little hell then ole Howie. I cant wait. I personally expect to start seeing a lot more of Dean, as the elections are a year and a half out, and if anyone can get some press time the good governor certainly can. I pasted the email below for those who are interested.
Should be one hell of an hour, especially if Tim tries his BS with Dean, I expect the governor to do quite well.
Musgrave begs for help

Musgrave begs for help, taps conservative Christian group
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Saying she has a "bull's eye" on her back, freshman GOP Rep. Marilyn Musgrave sent a mass e-mail Friday begging for money to help her combat the "radical homosexual agenda" that is trying to oust her from office.
Looks like old Marilyn is gonna get ugly here( as if its possible for her to even get uglier).
I only hope and pray the people in her disrict come to their senses and reject the hate embodied by Ms.Musgrave.
Bush's Top Ten Flip-Flops

Bush's Top Ten Flip-Flops
Courtesy of, who else :), CBS news web page .
This is a beautiful thing, and ammunition to use against the Kerry flip flopper meme that seems to have pervaded the discussions so far. I hope Kerry has this on hand at the debate.
letter to the editor
Tue Sep 14, 2004 at 08:51:59 AM PDT
Here in Denver, our esteemed President is visiting today, so we gotta know CO. really is in the mix. Damn, Cheneys been here more then a few times in the past 6 mts. or so to confirm that .
So I'm just a little giddy that the Rocky Mountain News decided to publish my letter to the editor today, 3-4 weeks after I sent it, and two weeks after they called to confirm and suggest they might publish it. I had sort of given up.
And I still think our greatest strength is to call attention to Bush's lack of leadership, and to me nothing does that more then watching those "7 Pet Goat Minutes".
Kerry blasts lapse of assault weapons ban,
Mon Sep 13, 2004 at 09:05:45 AM PDT
OK So did
Kerry just step in it by taking on this issue.
WASHINGTON (AP) John Kerry is criticizing President Bush for letting a decade-long ban on assault weapons expire while unveiling his own $5 billion plan to fight crime and picking up a police union endorsement.
''George Bush made a choice today,'' the president's Democratic challenger said in remarks prepared for a Washington audience Monday. ''He chose his powerful friends in the gun lobby over the police officers and the families he promised to protect.''
Armed robbers steal 'The Scream'
Sun Aug 22, 2004 at 08:11:55 AM PDT
From CNN
OSLO, Norway (CNN) -- Masked robbers stormed into an art museum in Norway and stole Edvard Munch's famous paintings "The Scream" and "Madonna" at gunpoint before the eyes of stunned museum-goers.
I just couldnt resist the headline, because I'm sure most everyone is thinking about Dean's "supposed" scream, which to my embarassment I discovered through another thread, and forced to confess and apologize for my ignorance there , was'nt really a scream.
Edwards lays down the gauntlet
Sat Aug 21, 2004 at 06:18:39 PM PDT
Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards called on Saturday for President Bush to condemn the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ad campaign, which attack's John Kerry's Vietnam war record and antiwar activities on his return to the United States. "This is a moment of truth for George W. Bush. We're gonna see what kind of man he is and what kind of leader he is," Edwards said while campaigning in Virginia.
A little smackdowncoming down here , and it sure is nice seeing some press on it, and seeing Edwards coming out front on it in his intelligent, articulate way.
price per barrel vs gas prices
Tue Aug 10, 2004 at 10:09:21 AM PDT
I wonder if this is happening in other parts of the country, or if anyones noticed. Here in CO the price of gas has been steadily decreasing the past 2-3 weeks, down app. 15 cents, while of course everyone knows the price per barrel of oil has been soaring. I dont ever remember seeing this happen before, and my only conclusion is that the fix is in with the oil companies to keep gas low to help Bush, at least till after the election.
So has anyone else noticed this happening where they are, or maybe its just in potential swing states.
GE and more corporate welfare
Tue Jul 13, 2004 at 05:29:23 AM PDT
I dont know why I look at the news before i have had my first cup of coffee, cuz reading all this shit can be damn depressing.
The article on MSNBC's web page is about how GE is about to have a new tax code written that not only provides for $140 Billion in corproate tax cuts over the next ten years, but also give incentives to export american jobs and into foreign investment.
WTF Does the greed never end? Do these people not care at all for anyone or anything besides the bottom line?
Kerry and Edwards should be jumping all over this fucken bill.
Musgrave, Matsunaka in dead heat
Fri Jun 11, 2004 at 06:00:11 AM PDT
Rocky Mt. News
reports this is really a close race, which is very promising, although I believe it was close last time also, until the GOP poured lots of money her way. It is none the less a race that can be won by the dems. Musgrave is a shallow, one issue fanatic, and I only hope the voters in her district are more enlightened then her.
Gen. Zinni: 'They've Screwed Up'
Fri May 21, 2004 at 05:07:07 PM PDT
It just keeps getting better and better.
This is just one more nail in the neocon coofin.
(CBS) Accusing top Pentagon officials of "dereliction of duty," retired Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni says staying the course in Iraq isn't a reasonable option.
"The course is headed over Niagara Falls. I think it's time to change course a little bit or at least hold somebody responsible for putting you on this course," he tells CBS News Correspondent Steve Kroft in an interview to be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, May 23, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
The current situation in Iraq was destined to happen, says Zinni, because planning for the war and its aftermath has been flawed all along.
'Tear down this ball!'
Thu Feb 26, 2004 at 06:36:27 PM PDT
Will destroying the Bartman ball demolish the curse?
While others painstakingly dissect and scrutinize every little bit of minutia and nuance of our political climate, matters of great importance to the free world are slipping by under our radar.
One of these matters that has come to my attention has to do with the sorrowful anguish of cubbies fans everywhere. For too many years have these fans been disenfranchised and scoffed at, yet never giving up the struggle to rise up and assert their rights and equality.
House passes bill to protect fetuses
Thu Feb 26, 2004 at 05:05:10 PM PDT
Heres something to really start thinking about, much closer to reality then the FMA.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House voted Thursday to subject assailants who injure or kill a pregnant woman and her fetus to two separate crimes. The bill would for the first time under federal law give victim's rights to a fetus.
The bill, championed by conservative groups, drew opposition from others concerned that conferring new rights on the fetus would undermine abortion rights.
Seriously from what I've read in the past, this is a serious attempt to undermine Roe, in that it confers legal rights upon an unborn fetus.
Dean pleads for help to pay bills
Wed Feb 25, 2004 at 05:53:50 PM PDT
WASHINGTON - One-time presidential candidate Howard Dean, whose campaign fund went from boom to bust, is pleading with donors to open their pocketbooks one more time and help him retire at least $400,000 in debt.
You guys better get busy and help out

Tue Feb 24, 2004 at 02:51:30 AM PDT
From the
NYT
Backers of a bipartisan bill that would shield firearms dealers and manufacturers from lawsuits are pushing for a vote this week in the Senate, injecting the volatile issue of gun control into this year's presidential and Congressional elections.
The bill, which would grant legal immunity to gun makers and dealers so long as they did not sell defective weapons or violate any law, has the support of the White House and 55 sponsors in the Senate, including the Democratic and Republican leaders. It has already passed the House and could come up for consideration in the Senate as early as Wednesday.
Court to hear case to reopen Roe V. Wade
Thu Feb 19, 2004 at 09:53:16 PM PDT
Court to hear case to reopen Roe V. Wade
DALLAS (AP) -- A federal appeals court has agreed to hear a request from the woman formerly known as "Jane Roe" to reconsider the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.
Norma McCorvey, who joined with anti-abortion activists nearly 10 years ago, is seeking to have the decision overturned, citing what she says is more than 30 years of evidence that abortions are psychologically harmful to women.
Its 2004, and this is still happening. Unbelievable.
