Obama would have voted PRESENT on IRAQ in 2002

Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 05:32:10 PM PDT

Obama says that he has the right judgement because he was against the Iraq War from the beginning and spoke against it.  Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, voted to give President Bush the authority to wage war against Saddam Hussein.  However,  Obama was not in the Senate then and did not have to record his vote. At that time 911 was so fresh in the minds of people,  and the public believed Saddam had something to do with 911 and had weapons of mass destruction.

Notice, people who had presidential ambitions did not want to appear weak in National Security so they voted YES to the war authorization.  If Obama was in the Senate then,  he would not want to record his NO vote and be used against him politically when he runs for President.  He, just like he did 130x in the Illinois Senate and recently on Kyle-Lieberman amendment to declare Iran's Revolutionary Guards terrorists organization or the MoveOn Defend condemnation--would have either voted present or not vote at all.

Email Jet Blue to Stop Ads on Fox

Fri Jul 20, 2007 at 04:10:35 PM PDT

We need to turn the tables to Fox.  If Jet Blue pulled out their sponsorship of Yearlykos because of a few troll comments then they also should stop advertising on Fox, because of all the hateful comments they said.

Kos said:

Oh, and JetBlue advertises with Fox. You see, it's okay to support the likes of Ann Coulter.

Perhaps if we e-mail Jet Blue all the hateful comments said in Fox,  then they should apply same treatment towards Fox. They should stop all their advertisements on Fox and all the Rightwing Radio talk shows.

Here is their e-mail:

corporatecommunications@jetblue.com

Examples of hateful comments are on the flip coming from the Dodd and Clinton Campaigns.

If you know of more, please post it.

Draft Gore

Sat Feb 24, 2007 at 08:23:57 AM PDT

I really like Al Gore to run. And he has already said no.   DraftGore.com is asking for petitions and I signed up.
However they are also asking for contributions.  With 37000 people signed up giving $10 they can seriously raised hundreds thousands of dollars.

I checked their About Us link and  there are no leaders or names associated with them.  I remember Draft Clark was headed by Hlinko, Kos, etc. They should reveal who they are for accountability.

How can we differentiate serious and credible sites.  Truth and Hope raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Kerry's ads but I didnt see any of their ads and they seem to disappear afterwards. A congressman candidate raise hundreds of thousand dollars from netroots and did not even fill FEC reports.

I think the organizers of DraftGore.com should reveal who they are for accountability.

Do you have anymore information regarding the DraftGore.com?

Hillary Clinton vs John  McCain matchup in latest polls show John McCain leading.

John McCain 48
Hillary Clinton 47

Diageo/Hotline Poll Nov. 8-12, 2006. (N=1,005 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 3.1).
John McCain 45
Hillary Clinton 40
Unsure 15

Anectdotally, my mother who just change her party affiliation from Republican to Democrat and has voted for Al Gore and John Kerry and a straight Dem ticket for 2006 midterm election chooses  McCain over Hillary for president even though she has  lost some respect for McCain ever  since he started pandering to George Bush and his continued hawkishness over the war.

I wonder how many kossacks will vote for McCain over Hillary Clinton.

Democrats letter to Pres Bush on Iraq

Tue Aug 01, 2006 at 07:08:25 AM PDT

12 Democrats, led by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.),  including  the top Democrats on the House and Senate committees dealing with armed services, foreign relations, intelligence and military spending sent a letter to President Bush complaining that "the open-ended commitment in Iraq that you have embraced cannot and should not be sustained" and that Democrats  "believe that it is time for Iraqis to step forward and take the lead for securing and governing their own country".  As expected Republicans  denounced the letter as defeatist.

Pope Benedict calls for a ceasefire.  He pleads, "In the name of God, I address to all those responsible for this spiral of violence that all sides immediately lay down their arms,"  "To political leaders and international institutions, I ask that no effort be spared in order to obtain the necessary cessation of hostilities," the pope said, "and thus to build, through dialogue, a lasting and stable coexistence of all the people of the Middle East."

Link Court TV & Voting Integrity CA-50

Tue Jul 25, 2006 at 07:36:15 AM PDT

I hope frontpagers discuss voting integrity.  They dont have to touch on who really won but they should create a buzz to bring the issue of unverifiable election machines which should be banned all over the country.  There are many facts that can be brought out--like GAO report,  academic studies on the integrity of the DIEBOLD machines--but someone needs to bring forth this issue and create a buzz.

Here is a Court TV report on CA 50 sleepovers and Diebold machines link:

Misinformed Reasons to still Support Iraq War

[new] Misinformed reasons to support War

http://www.foxnews.com/....

Fox News asked its readers if after 3 years hindsight they think invading Iraq was the right choice.  It is very interesting the answers people give especially those who still supported the War.  They until now support it for misinformed reasons--such as getting rid of Saddam will lessen terrorism or that Saddam had WMD still.   It is same with politicians who come out publicly their continued support--like it seemed misinformed or misleading.

To all Dems going on the air--TV, radiio, print, etc

Please repeat ad nauseum  Clark's line on national security:

If the Democrats were in power,' he strenuously argued, `we would have gone after Bin Laden, we would never have wasted over $200 billion of the nation's wealth, we would never have ignored the threats of North Korea and Iran, we would never have ignored Putin's power grabs and suppression of Russian Democracy, we would never have completely ignored China's growing economic threat, and we would never have undertaken a policy of such ill repute that it creates more enemies in the world than friends

Colbert Report misinformed on Dem involvement in Abramoff

Mon Jan 09, 2006 at 09:33:16 PM PDT

Something must be done right away to the misinformation that Abramoff scandals is a bipartisan affair when it is not.  Abramoff is a Republican only scandal.

So why is the media....even...gasp...Colbert Report repeating the misinformation?  Colbert  Report included Democrats like Reid, Clinton, Dorgan, etc as list of Abramoff beneficiaries.

Before the Colbert Report,  I thought this was the fault of political hacks in media in cahoots with GOP spin machine.  But after the Colbert Report, I think this is now a failure of the Dem Party Rapid Response.

Thu Dec 08, 2005 at 07:46:25 PM PDT

Unfortunately I dont have a TNR subscription.  But Red Dan  in the comments section pulled an excerpt of the article which is on the flip.  The article points out every gaffe Dean said in the past which is now conventional wisdom.

Howard Dean is being vilified again--not only by Republicans in the White House and Congress, but by his fellow Democrats as well. And once again it's for making a critical comment about the administration's conduct of the Iraq war. In an interview Monday with a San Antonio radio station, Dean, comparing the conflicts in Iraq and Vietnam, said, "The idea that we're going to win this war is an idea that unfortunately is just plain wrong." Dean also likened the Bush administration's lack of candor about the war to that of the Nixon administration. "What we see today is very much like what was going on in Watergate," he said....

What Is it like to be a Christian?

Tue Nov 15, 2005 at 11:29:44 AM PDT

Dark Syde confided what it is like to be an atheists.  And since being Christian or religious is a minority here, I thought of confiding what is it like to be a Christian and a Catholic.
I was born a Catholic from a conservative family, where there is no divorce, and birth control is a sin and if you failed to go to 1 Sunday Mass you cannot take communion until you take confession.
Since when we have problems and pray so if things go our way we think it is a miracle and have seen miracles happen in our lives reinforcing our beliefs.
We have seen lives destroyed by addiction change by turning to God, reinforcing our beliefs.

70,000 kossacks * $10/month and 3 friends = $25 million

Sun Nov 13, 2005 at 03:02:57 PM PDT

Democracy Bonds is really a great idea and a way grassroots can take back America and its government.  The root of corruption and Republican's corruption and kowtowing to special interest and big corporation is related to campaign financing.  We need to make Democracy work and showing that Democrats is financed by individual people and giving 10, 20 dollars a month is a good branding for Democrats.

1 Million Democrats * $10/month = $120 million (and we win the fundraising race right there).
